38 Christmas cards using the 'Merry Little Christmas Collection' by Pebbles.

Hi Bloggers,

I purchased the embellishments and a 12 x 12inch paper pad of the Pebbles, 'Merry Little Christmas Collection.' Can you believe it - these supplies stretched to make 38 Christmas cards and 5 layouts (please see my previous post)....wow.   Every paper in the collection is gorgeous, the colours (red, pink, green, teal and gold) are super nice  and the hedgehogs, santas driving cars, reindeers, stockings, flowers and tags are totally delightful.

The hedgehog card below is a copy from the Pebbles Blog.  I just love the little guy in the sleigh and paper fringing.  Yah....I used my fringing scissors that have been sitting unused in my drawer forever.  Bring on more paper fringing!!

The rest of the cards are designed and made by me.  They are all simple and easy, just made from the papers and embellishments that were sitting around on my desk.   I took the time to mount the tags, embellishments and images onto recycled cardboard and was pleased with the layered and sturdy look this imparted to the cards.  Adding the bells, bling and dimensional magic, were all fun little touches.  Warning, however, adding bells to your cards, increases the postage as the thick envelopes are often classed as parcels.  (tip - use small bells or save up).

More paper fringing - used those finging scissors again.

PS.  Now I just have to find enough friends to actually send the cards to....lol

5 Christmas Layouts using 'Pebbles - Merry Little Christmas Collection.'

Hi Bloggers,

These layouts use the brightly coloured and fun 'Merry Little Christmas' Collection by Pebbles. I just love how those pops of gold add a 'touch of style' to the playful range.  I tried 'paper patchworking', something I have not done before.  Although it took some time creating the template and sewing all the pieces on, once the foundations were laid the layouts came together quickly. Now I plan to do more  patchworking in the future using all sorts of different shapes.  Watch this space.
Now, less chat and more looking. See what you think.

Christmas Mixed Media Layout (4 of 5) - girl

Dear Bloggers,

Here is another mixed media LO in red, green and gold. Don't you love the chipboard reindeer by Scrapmatts!?!  These little guys feature in most of Christmas pages, as they are so adorable.
I had a hard time with this layout trying to find the right green for the background.  At the end of the day there were soggy, wet messes sitting in my bin and my 'green thumbs' did not mean I was good with plants.  Infact all of my hands were green and there were other random splatters all over the place.
The final result was a composite of 'goodness knows' what colours.  Not sure I even like this page but hey!!!  it is definitely getting blog time as it took me sooooo long to put together.
Mostly scrapbooking is soooo much fun and other times you just wonder, 'What on earth am I doing???'  That's when you give up for the day and eat chocolate....lol

Christmas Mixed Media Layout (3 of 5)...girl

Hi Bloggers,

Not sure if I am a real fan of this layout but hey, win some, loose some.  I did, however, enjoy trying to make it work.

Look at those cute little chipboard reindeers by Scrapmatts...just love them.

Christmas Mixed Media Layout (2 of 5) in Turquoise and Red

Dear Bloggers,

I just love turquoise and red used together for Christmas Layouts and my inspiration was of course Di Garling.  She created this stunning page entitled Santa's Little Helper  and made a process video showing how she carries out her magic.

Here is my take.
I just love the Tim Holtz Christmas stamps with postage labels for the 'North Pole', Santa's Office and more. These are on most of my Christmas mixed media pages.
The chipboard baubles and 'MAKE A WISH' tag are by Scrapmatts and the 'ho ho ho' and little birdies on leaves are courtesy of 2 Crafty Chipboard.

I think I might have gone a bit OTT with the decorating - or really, is this possible.  It's all about what feels good....right.  I had fun and I guess that is really what it is all about.

Christmas Mixed Media Layout using Di Garling's kit.

Dear Bloggers,
As you probably know, I love di Garling's work.  She is one talented lady, who puts together kits that are simply stunning. Although the Christmas Kit I used is all sold out, there are new ones constantly. Pop over to her blog and have a look. I love how Di has used brown with the red, green and gold colour scheme.  Brown is colour that I usually avoid like the plague, so I felt quite inspired to see it used so well....thanks Di!

Mixed Media Christmas Layout (1 of 5) - Boy

Hello Bloggers,

Well, my poor little blog has been sadly neglected for over a year...sorry blog.  It is not that I have not been creating but somehow the extra steps of photographing, editing and posting have been seriously absent. I have also created many digital layouts using Project-life but they contain so many personal stories and details, that I prefer not to post them.
I am currently home - sick. coughing and spluttering.  Although my Covid-19 result is negative, nobody wants you near them when you are breathing germs and illness, especially during a Pandemic!!  So in my isolation, I have a cup of tea and my fingers on the keyboard ready to finally start blogging.  Here goes......

I created five Christmas mixed media layouts using a hodge podge of supplies.  They were messy and fun to make...hope that you like them. I will do a separate post for each one...that way it looks like I have been busier on my blog😉.

The chipboard is by Scrapmatts and 2 Crafty Chipbaord, the flowers by Green Tara and Prima,  Stamps by Tim Holtz - Holiday Postmarks and frames by Kaisercraft.

Thanks for looking.
