Grungy Boy Layouts

Hi Bloggers,

I am not usually a fan of, 'Grunge'.  But when my little Arthur turned 2 and was on his new bike, wearing his new black bike helmet,  I could feel some gungy layouts coming on. So here are my first attempts at serious grunge, ever.

Firstly I started with an orange, black and blue palette, to match my little guy's attire.

So many of my boy layouts feature orange and blue, so for the next attempt I used a combination that I have not used before.  I turned the photos to black and white, and opted for a palette of grey, yellow and black.  I am not normally a fan of black and white photos but I felt these high contrast and gritty black and white pics really added to the whole 'grungy' feel.

Oh yes, I forgot to add, it was so exciting to finally use my ruler stamps that have sat unused in my drawer for over a decade.

Mixed Media Boy Layout in Blue, Green and Red

Dear Bloggers,
Here is a mixed media layout using a large photo. This took a very long time to come together: there were lots of ripped up attempts discarded in the bin.  By about attempt 5, I was happy with the result.

Mixed Media Boy Layouts in orange and Blue

Dear Bloggers,

Upto four plus weeks of isolation.  Fortunately the number of Covid-19 infections in Aus are quite low and we seem to be going quite well with the pandemic lurgy that is plaguing us.  The upside is that we have more time for crafting and fortunately my mojo is inline with the amount of time I have.
I am really enjoying doing mixed media layouts. Using those 'special ' things that you buy and still have 10 years later is a real bonus. Infact many more gems from my copious stash of crafting supplies are ear marked for use.  Thanks Arthur for that cheeky grin and shining blue eyes that provide endless gorgeous photos for scrapbooking.
I made a circular frame out of thick string and used Prima artstones for the first time.  I love them, especially the medium sized ones. I did not realise that they were so light.  Art stones and string frames are going to be my new 'thing'.
Enough chat.....I am meant to, infact, to be working.....but....hey there is always time to blog!!

Here comes another layout with yes, you guessed it, art stones and a homemade string frame.  I was a little disappointed with how this turned out as it is too monochromatic - but hey!!! there is always the next layout.

Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice....pretty in pink baby girl layouts.

Dear Bloggers,
I just love pink and flowers.  Three daughters and three granddaughters are a perfect gift for anyone - especially one that has a scrapbook addiction.  Callie-Rose and Rindy are both babies so I had lots of fun with pastel pinks and soft mint greens.

The layout below entitled, Baby Girl, is by Di Garling and I just loveeee it. Look at the gorgeous palette, flowers, butterflies and more. Infact pop over to Di's blog as she is one very talented lady.

This is my scraplift of Di'swork featuring little Rindy.

Simple Stories Country Christmas Layouts

Dear Bloggers,
I was very attracted to 'Simple Stories' Country Christmas range of paper and embellishments ...especially the layered frames.  It was my gorgeous little Grand daughter, Callie-Rose's, first Christmas and she looked so cute in her little outfit with baby reindeer antlers.  Her dad even wore a crimson vest which perfectly matched the papers.  Such a wonderful coincidence....ah the serendipitous nature of Scrapbooking.  My daughter's dress also matched but, bless her heart, she wore a green dress because she knows how I love green in my Christmas layouts.  I am very lucky.
