3rd Place in Australian Photography Magazine

Dear Bloggers,

Hello hope you are all well.
I received a terrific surprise today.  I subscribe to 'Australian Photography' Magazine and they run monthly themed competitions  Several months ago the subject was 'Mountains and Hills' so I entered my photo below taken in Whistler Jan 2011.   I like the way Tiffany, in sharp focus, appears to be standing on the  ethereal edge of anywhere.  To my complete and utter surprise today I found out that my image received 3rd prize and I won a year's subscription to both Capture and Digital Photography and Design Magazines.  Wow I am tickled pink.

Out of Africa

Dear Bloggers,

Sorry there has been such a large pause in my blogging but I have been lucky enough to have travelled to Africa.  My husband Brad and I went for 24 days and we had the most wonderful holiday ever.  Africa is an amazing place and we loved every minute of it.

In June this year Scrapbooking Memories was kind enough to publish 5 of my LOs in one issue.  Here is a little show and tell.

'Jump' was in the gallery entitled 'Ribbons' and I had lots of fun creating this LO using a lovely selection of ribbons from Craft Queen.

'Down By The River' captured a scene from our Summer holiday on the River.

Tiffany makes wonderful cakes and this LO captures her making yummy chocolate and cream cheese cakes out of the 'Humming Bird Cook Book' that Kirsty gave her for Christmas.

I recreated the same LO but in a simpler form to show how a basic LO can be taken up a notch or 2 or simply stand on its own as a clean and simple design.

Scrapbooking Memories also commissioned me to create 2 layouts including at least 4 photos and the challenge was to create a basic layout and the same one but in a more advanced form.  The changes had to be to do with the number of photos used and how one uses multiple photos.

This is the more basic LO featuring 4 photos from our holiday in Jan 2011 to Whistler, Canada.

This more advanced LO features: an extra photo block, journalling around the photos, a story board sequence of photos showing my family skiing and unifying rub ons.

Lastly I have been having a wonderful time using my Prima Papers, flowers and butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.
