Party Hats, Pretty Papers and Big Silly Geese Post 4 of 6

Handmade cards using the Concord & 9th Silly Goose stamp set and dies, featuring large geese, curved sentiments, party hats, bows, water puddles, grass and patterned paper backgrounds.
Playful handmade cards featuring the large goose from the Concord & 9th Silly Goose stamp set and dies, with curved sentiments, party hats, bows, puddles, and pretty patterned papers.

Dear Bloggers,

Don’t you love the way the stamped sentiments curve around the back of the large goose? It is such a clever feature of the Concord & 9th Silly Goose clear photopolymer stamp set, and it makes the greeting feel like part of the design rather than a separate element.

For these handmade cards, I paired the large goose from the Concord & 9th Silly Goose stamp set and coordinating dies with a selection of pretty patterned papers. The soft colours and decorative patterns create a cheerful background while allowing the wonderfully expressive goose to remain the main feature.

Party hats, sweet little bows, puddles of water and tufts of grass—these cards really do have it all! I had fun combining the different Silly Goose accessories to give each card its own playful personality. The puddles and grass help create a complete little scene, while the party hats and bows make the geese look ready for a celebration.

The large goose is ideal for handmade birthday cards, celebration cards and friendship cards, particularly when combined with the curved sentiments included in the set. Changing the patterned papers and small accessories makes it easy to create a coordinated group of cards in which every design is slightly different.

Boho Shabby Chic Cards with Concord & 9th Silly Goose Post 3 of 6

Handmade boho shabby chic card using Concord & 9th Silly Goose stamps and dies with the large goose, curved Hillside sentiment, lace and flowers in dusty pink, sage, olive green and marigold yellow.
Boho shabby chic handmade card created with the Concord & 9th Silly Goose stamp set and dies, featuring the large goose, layered hillsides, lace and flowers.

Dear Bloggers,

The Concord & 9th Silly Goose clear photopolymer stamp set and coordinating dies include one large goose and several smaller geese, giving you plenty of options for creating fun and character-filled handmade cards. For this set of cards, I chose to give the big guy centre stage.

To create the layered background, I also used the Concord & 9th Hillside clear photopolymer stamp set and coordinating die. The curved hillside pieces frame the goose beautifully and add extra shape and movement to each design. I particularly love how the sentiments have been curved to fit neatly inside the die-cut hillside sections. It is such a clever detail and makes the greeting feel like a natural part of the scene.

The combination of the playful large goose, curved stamped sentiments, layered hillsides, lace and flowers gives these handmade cards a lovely balance of whimsy and vintage-inspired charm. The Concord & 9th Silly Goose stamps and dies work beautifully with the Hillside set and can be adapted for birthday cards, friendship cards, thank-you cards and many other cheerful occasions.

Honk, Honk, Hooray! | Concord & 9th Silly Goose Cards Post 2 of 6

Handmade celebration cards featuring a honking goose stamp decorated with party hats, flowers and hearts in mustard yellow, dusty blue and sage green.
A cheerful honking goose created with the Silly Goose stamp set by Concord & 9th, decorated with party hats, flowers and hearts in mustard yellow.

Dear Bloggers,

This gorgeous little goose was clearly in the mood to celebrate! I especially love the stamp showing the little honk coming from its beak, as it gives the design so much personality and makes the whole card feel playful and full of fun.

For these handmade celebration cards, I used the Concord & 9th Silly Goose dies and coordinating acrylic stamp set. The goose is such a fun focal point, and I had a lovely time adding tiny party hats, flowers and hearts to create a cheerful series of card designs.

I also enjoyed working with a soft, muted vintage colour palette of mustard yellow, dusty blue and sage green. These colours coordinate beautifully and give the cards a warm, slightly nostalgic feel without being too bright.

By changing the placement of the party hats, flowers and hearts, each card has its own character while still belonging to the same coordinating set.

“Bottoms Up! A Silly Goose Cardmaking Series.” Post 1 of 6

Handmade Bottoms Up celebration cards featuring geese in gumboots, created with the Concord & 9th Silly Goose Stamp and Die Set.
Bottoms up! These playful celebration cards were created with the Concord & 9th Silly Goose Stamp and Die Set. I loved this design so much that these cheeky geese went straight into mass production.

Dear Bloggers,

I was immediately drawn to the Silly Goose Stamp and Die Set by Concord & 9th. A goose wearing gumboots is simply too cute! I especially loved the “Bottoms Up, Time to Celebrate” sample on the Concord & 9th website (see the picture below).

I rarely repeat card designs, but these little geese were so much fun that I went into mass production. I used Spellbinders Portobello Cardstock, which is a beautiful, kraft coloured cardstock, along with one colourful version simply because I loved the shade.

These cards are much cleaner and simpler than my usual style. The precise measuring, centring and placement were surprisingly challenging, and although I tried not to add extra layers, I eventually gave in and added a white mat behind some of the designs. I actually prefer them that way, as the white border gives the cards a little more definition while keeping the overall look fresh and simple.

Do you like the matting, or plain?  Portobello or Cherry?  Please let me know

Alex Syberia Designs, Christmas bouquet die, floral Christmas cards, handmade cards, die cut cards, festive cardmaking

Handmade Christmas cards created with the Alex Syberia Designs Christmas Bouquet Die Set, featuring the Joy and Ho Ho words with tiny Mini Ornament Dies.

Dear Bloggers,

For this set of handmade Christmas cards, I used the Alex Syberia Designs Christmas Bouquet Die Set again, but this time I used it in a different way. Instead of following the bouquet template, I used the individual die-cut pieces more freely to build festive designs around the words Joy and Ho Ho.

The letter dies are included in the Christmas Bouquet Die Set, and they are such a fun addition. I love the word Joy for Christmas cards because it feels classic, simple and full of meaning. Ho Ho is always playful and a little bit funny, so it brings a cheerful, light-hearted feel to the cards.

I was especially happy with the card shown at the beginning of this post. It has a lovely balance of festive detail, clean design and playful Christmas character.

A full list of all the materials used to create these cards is included at the end of this post.

Christmas Bouquet Cards with Alex Syberia Designs Die Set

Handmade Christmas bouquet cards created with the Alex Syberia Designs Christmas Bouquet Die Set, featuring layered florals, leaves, stems and striking dark backgrounds.

    Dear Bloggers,

This set of handmade Christmas cards was created using the Alex Syberia Designs Christmas Bouquet Die Set. It is such a beautiful die set and really sets you up for success, as it includes a helpful template to guide the placement of all the die-cut pieces.

The bouquet is large and full of lovely details, including beautifully shaped flowers, buds, leaves and stems. The set also includes a shadow die, which makes it easy to create extra depth and definition behind the floral arrangement.

If you would like to see other cards using these die cuts without he template please see my next post.

For these cards, the Christmas bouquet was placed mainly on black backgrounds because the contrast felt very striking. The bright festive florals really stand out against the darker cardstock, giving the cards a bold and elegant look. However, this design would work beautifully with almost any background colour, from soft neutrals to classic Christmas reds, greens or metallics.

In this example, I used a white background with a kraft cardstock shadow behind the bouquet. I also added a white paint splatter for a little extra texture. It was meant to be quite subtle, but I went a bit heavier than planned. In the end, I actually liked the effect, as the stronger splatter gives the card a more handmade, snowy feel.

This is a gorgeous die set for festive cardmaking, especially if you enjoy layered die cuts, floral Christmas cards and handmade cards with a polished finish.

A full list of all the materials used to create these cards is included at the end of this post.

Materials Used to Create These Cards

    2. Black, white and Kraft Cardstock

Handmade Christmas Tree Cards with Alex Syberia Designs Mini Ornament Dies

A cheerful set of handmade Christmas tree cards decorated with Alex Syberia Designs Mini Ornament Dies, including tiny Santa and reindeer details.

    Dear Bloggers,

This set of handmade Christmas cards features the Alex Syberia Designs Christmas Tree Die decorated with the gorgeous Alex Syberia Designs Mini Ornament Dies.

I absolutely loved using the little ornament dies on these cards. The tiny Santa and reindeer are especially adorable and add so much character to the Christmas trees. They make each card feel playful, festive, and full of handmade charm.

The Christmas tree die is such a lovely base for festive cardmaking because it is simple, bold, and easy to decorate in different ways. Adding the mini ornaments brings the trees to life and gives the cards a sweet, fun look without making them feel too busy.

These cards would be perfect for Christmas cardmaking, festive papercraft inspiration, or anyone who loves die cutting and handmade holiday cards. I love how the same tree design can be used across a set while still making each card feel a little different.
