Christmas cards using Tinm Holtz Harvey, Yultide Wreath and Layered Plaid (Post 1 of

 Dear Bloggers,

Sorry for the long drought! I’ve been busy over the past few months making Christmas cards. They are finally finished and posted, which means it’s time to start sharing them here again.

When Tim Holtz and Sizzix released Harvey in 2024, I was so excited to finally bring this little guy to life. The Tim Holtz Yuletide Wreath is absolutely gorgeous, but it can be quite fiddly and tricky to assemble. The first few wreaths I made didn’t line up properly and were destined for the bin—until I realised they would make the perfect background for Harvey.

The wreath in the centre was one where everything lined up properly, so this one (and its partner, coming up soon!) was left uncovered. It was adorned with gems and finished with the beautiful bell and bow that come with the set.

The bows on the cards with the soldier, were cut using a very simple, inexpensive die that I had previously overlooked because of its plainness. However, I felt that the large, no-frills bow provided a lovely, steadying influence in the corner. As you can see from the photo, I couldn’t help myself—I layered one bow on top of the other and added Christmas berries in the centre. I purchased these, along with the candy canes, very cheaply through Temu and was thrilled with the result. To finish them off, I applied Distress Grit Paste Snowfall to the plastic leaves to give a hint of snow.

The gold lattice background comes from the Tim Holtz Layered Plaid die. I used only the top layer of the die, and I love how it looks layered over the red cardstock.

If you’d like to see more cards using these dies and stamps, please check out my upcoming posts.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
