Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all.

We've been having a crafty time here this Chrissie.

I was lucky enough to have my Christmas layout published in Nov 2010 Scrapbooking Memories.  This is a hybrid double page and I enjoyed creating it as it was just sooooo! red.

I made an Advent Calendar for the family.  I searched for nice photos with Santa but alas my children never looked happy or photogenic on Santa's knee.  Given that they are now 21, 19 and 16years old I guess I won't get one.  The photo I chose was the one when my dad came to playgroup and he was Santa.  Amy was 3 and Kirsty not even one and neither of them recognised Santa as their Poppy.  The girls don't look that great in the photo but my dad and the special memories certainly are great.

Making the calendar was lots of fun. I had glitter everywhere and I was very pleased to use my Martha Stewart Frinkles in the Christmas trees.  I also discovered glitter modge podge when making this.  What a great product for giving things that wonderful glitter effect without going over the top.

When I looked at the calendar from a practical point of view I realised it could not even hold one decent chocolate.  That's OK I thought - my family are pretty grown up - we can just use it as a decoration.  You've to be kidding - they love their Chrissie choccies.  The only solution was to put clues into the advent calendar so they could go on a treasure hunts to find the loot.  Even my husband wanted to be involved.  My 16 year old Tiff says she loves getting out of bed in the morning so she can get the next clue.  Very cute.

I also made bon bons for each of my children.  I finally got to use one of the Kasiercraft papers that I have also loved but never used - until now that is!!

Bye for now
love Jenny
