Featured Cards
| This blue-on-white card showcases the triple stamping technique, where three separate stamps form one image, allowing three different colours to be used. A bold blue bow and layered scallops add extra interest and detail. |
| For this celebration card, the triple stamping technique stamps Oh Happy Day in orange, purple, and green, with each stamp adding its own colour to the sentiment. A coordinating fabric bow brings the colours together and softens the overall design. |
Behind the Featured Card and More Post 7 in my Concord & 9th Triple-Step Happy Day Card, series focuses on triple stamping and elevating card designs with fabric bows. I wanted to step these cards up a bit… but how? I pulled out all sorts of supplies from my stash, tried a few ideas, and then remembered an old packet of patterned fabric bows I’d been holding onto for years. “These won’t work with the patterns,” I told myself — but I flicked one over and tried it anyway. To my surprise, they worked really well. I think because the cards already used lots of colour, and the overall design was fairly simple and geometric, they were able to carry the often quite intricate patterns on the bows. Even more incredibly, I managed to match a different bow to every card — nine cards in total. Yes, I got carried away… again. It just goes to show that if you hold onto your supplies long enough, they will eventually find their time to shine — you just need to remember you have them. LOL. I especially love how the bows add extra layering and pattern to the cards, and the fabric introduces a lovely new texture that really elevates the overall design. If you don’t happen to have a stash of patterned bows, you could easily cut your own from patterned paper that complements your card design. You can use the template below if you don’t have a suitable bow die in your supplies. ![]() If you want to learn about Triple- Step Stamping please see Post 1 -Triple stamping technique There are just so many cards in this post: I sort of got carried away.
