Behind the Featured card and More
Post 4 in my Concord & 9th Triple-Step Happy Day Card Series, is about using lots of colours with the triple stamping technique.
For some of these cards, I decided to really push the envelope. What if the sentiment used more than three colours? What if I added brown—yuk—a colour I usually reserve for bears and tree trunks? Could an unappealing colour like brown actually work in the mix?
Surprisingly… yes.
There’s just something about this stamp and die set that makes everything seem to work. I think the “Oh Happy Day” sentiment does a lot of the heavy lifting—it’s big, horizontal, and wonderfully grounding. That solid base seems to give all the other elements permission to play nicely together. Even brown letters. And that’s really saying something.
I explain the Triple-Step Stamping technique, used to create these cards in more detail in the first post of the series. So if you’re curious about how it all comes together, click here.
