Amy's 21st Birthday

Hi Bloggers,

My beautiful daughter Amy turned 21 last year and here are the LO from her party.  As you will probably gather from the pictures the party was themed 'Out of this World'.  Amy was a gorgeous alien in a blue dress, Kirsty was Princess Leah and Will -Hans Solo, Nick was Dr Who, Tiffany and Tayla were Avitars, Brad was Captain Kirk and I was Captain Kirk's wife.

Hope that you like them.

The 'circular theme' and the 'Crate Paper' papers and embellishments were used as I felt they were 'spacey' and 'Out of this World'.

Thanks for looking

Special Invitation to have my work in the Papercraft Showroom

Wow I am sooooo! excited and honoured

I have just received an e-mail from lovely Kristy Evans (the editor of Scrapbooking Memories) asking me whether I would like to participate in the Papercraft Showroom which is an expo that travels around most of the Craft Expos In Australia until July 2011.  I have included relevant parts from the e-mail below.

Scrapbooking Memories would like to invite you to be a part of a display – the Papercraft Showroom – that will travel around most of the Craft Expo’s in Australia in 2011. This will be a special display of scrapbooking talent on show for all the public to see.  It will then travel around with the Craft Expo’s until July 2011 and it will be returned to you before September 2011. Your layouts will be presented in gorgeous shadow box frames with your name and project name clear for all to see.
We think your scrapbooking is worthy of a special place in our Papercraft Showroom and hope you will agree to take part.

Of course the answer is yes.

Layouts on Display at Catchy Crafts

Thanks all the wonderful people who are visiting my blog.  Since Maria ran the article in the newsletter there have been hundreds of hits on this site.  Wow!!!! I am soooooo happy and very humbled - thanks guys.
I was asked to put all the LO on display in Catchy Crafts  on to my blog.  The Webster's Pages LO have  already been featured (see earlier posts) - but here are some of the others.  Hope you like them.

This was me on my first day of school back in 1969 and  my class K2 at Lane Cove Primary School. This is a hybrid page and I just love the old journal.

My beautiful girls Amy, Kirsty and Tiffany at Noosa Beach one dreamy afternoon
in about 2002.  I love the Basic Grey paper and their great chip board letters.

Another hybrid LO.  This was so fun as I was able to dedicate a LO to my lovely house.  After all our 'Home is our Castle'.

Just in case you haven't realised  I LOVE FLOWERS.  How blessed am I to scrapbook and have 3 daughters - perfect.  I absolutely adore this photo of Amy that I took recently.  She is wearing the dress that I wore to my 30th Birthday and doesn't she look wonderful.  I adore PRIMA papers and flowers so making this little dedication to my wonderful Amy in pink flowers was just toooooo  much fun.

Amy and Tiffany on Christmas Day in 2009.  I LOVE how they look in SEPIA and yes you guessed it more Prima flowers - this time in beautiful warm earthy tones.

This is a LO about Kirsty and her boy friend  (sadly now an ex) on her 19th birthday.  I loved the photo with the harbour Bridge in the background which sits over the two of them like a halo.  Scrapbooking Memories kindly commissioned me to do a LO using the stunning Sizzix die cut flowers and leaves featured in the LO.  I used the latest release of Basic Grey papers at the time and I was very pleased with the outcome.  The second part of the commission was to use the large Sizzix die to create a large hexagonal prism.  This sat within the flap on the LO and popped up when you opened the page.  It had an elastic band inside so it really did POP.  Great for the adventuresome scrapper and wonderful way of showcasing lots of photos - mine contained 12.

More wonderful Basic Grey papers for this sunny DIVA LO.  It is  playful and fun so I wanted to employ a cheery orange palette.  This is Tiff and her friend Tayla at Noosa last year having a great time.

I have already posted this on my blog but it completes the collection that is on display at CC.  (there are a couple of others but I do not have photos of them).
Thank you so much for looking but remember NOTHING IS BETTER THAN SEEING THE REAL THING SO POP INTO CATCHY CRAFTS.  It really is a fabulous papercrafts store and a real MUST to visit.  I was there yesterday and again today and will probably be there tomorrow or Monday.  It is the place to be.

Take care
Thanks for visiting.

Hi Bloggers,

Catchy Crafts  is my favourite Scrapbooking store of all times.  It is an absolute scrapbooker and stamper's delight with  a glorious range of paper crafting products. They have very kindly made me their featured Artist.  Fifteen or so of my recent layouts are on display and they ran a little section on me in their newsletter.  I feel very privileged and honoured.  Thanks Catchy Crafts - especially Maria who worked so hard setting everything up and the wonderful job she did with the newsletter.

I have included the  relevant parts of the newsletter :

Having more fun with Webster's Pages Products,

Hi Bloggers,

Hope you are all happy and well.

I found the most delightful photo of Brad (my husband) when he was 8 years old.  It is particularly special for many reasons.  Of course because it was one of the rare photos of Brad with his dad and brother before they were both untimely killed.  On a happier note it is special just because it is so charming.  The family are dressed so smartly for Church.  Hazel has on the cutest hat and such a hip mini.  Brad and Mark are very cute in their jackets, long socks, smart shorts and freshly shined shoes.  Mark's  little jacket is done up with the shiniest buttons and the boys have their dashing short back and sides.  This certainly was a photo worth scrapping.

I also took a photo of Tiff on Christmas day where I felt she looked so classically elegant.  I had a little play in photoshop and placed a sanded overlay onto the image and the hints of some text.  I was pleased with the results and I felt it worked well with the soft beautiful teal greens of WP Life's Portrait papers.  A bit of tearing, inking, painting and alot!!!! of flowers later I came up with this Layout.

Look how cute Tiff is nestled in amongst all the flowers.

I was looking on the wonderful Dusty Attic website and I show that some of their DT were using templates to display the details of their work in.  I have just made my own template. See what you think.  If you would like the psd file of this I will happily share it with you.  Just e-mail me on jennyg@asquithvet.com.au if you are interested and I will send it to you.

That's all for now folks.  Keep scrapping.

More fun with Webster's Pages Products

Hi Bloggers,

Back again just to show you some more work I have done with WP products.

Tiff is a wonderful cook and I wanted to do a layout capturing this.  Every LO I do has people in it (or pets) so I thought I would scrap a photo of a delicious white chocolate cheese cake that Tiff made with strawberries standing like proud little soldiers on the top.  I had great fun making aprons for the Dusty Attic dress forms and I finally found a wonderful use for the little gold knives and forks that I have been keeping for over 5 years just waiting for that special project.

I made a hybrid card once again using the engaging WP birds.  I love the Dusty attic chicken wire layered underneath.

Still more WP layouts to come - keep watching over the next few days.
Have a look at their InspireMe site it is sensational.  http://websterspages.ning.com/

Happy New Years and Webster's Pages Design Team submissions

Hi Bloggers,
Wishing you all a Happy New Year.  I hope that you had a good night last night and that you are feeling nice and relaxed today and enjoying the wonderful sunshine.
Well the deadline for the Webster's pages design team was 31st of December at 12 midnight - and my submission is in.  Now it's just fingers crossed and lots of wishing.

I submitted an off the page project  - a journal cover entitled  'Document the Journey'

This is a hybrid project focusing on the beautiful birds that Webster's pages has. I also really love the filmstrip from the Hollywood Vogue collection so you can see that on the left.
Here are some details for you.

My second submission was a Layout entitled 'Sisters'.  I really lovethe palette of the Hollywood Vogue range so I used the soft apricots offset with olive green.  I used some of the papers from this range to make the flowers and I was thrilled with the results.  I placed a sanded overlay onto the photo of my two girls to add to the slightly distressed and vintage feel of the work.  The peacocks were included because they are just divine.

 Here are some details

My final submission was Beauty (which I have previously posted)

Well I gave it my absolute best shot so fingers crossed that Brandin and the WP team like my work.  There are so many talented scrappers out there so I know the competition is extremely tough - but I can only but hope.
Thanks for reading.
